Washington Program

The Washington Program offers students the opportunity to observe and participate in the various facets of American political and cultural life from a unique vantage point; whether engaged in government service, elective politics, policy research, museum work, or some other realm. Students in the Notre Dame Washington Program live, learn, and work in the nation’s capitol in either the fall or spring semester. Visit Washington Program for application details.

Summer in Washington DC

The Washington Program does not operate during the summer, however students who are interested in summer opportunities in Washington DC are encouraged to view the NDWP listings on Go IRISH. The majority of these organizations have summer internship opportunities and have previously hosted ND interns. Review the position descriptions on Go IRISH for summer deadlines and contact information.

Many summer interns are able to secure housing through local universities and student housing programs. These fill up early so plan ahead. Visit internship housing for recommendations.
