Diversity Career Events
The Career Center at Notre Dame participates in the annual Diversity programs created for diverse sophomores and juniors from Big 10+ universities including the University of Notre Dame, DePaul University, the University of Chicago, and the University of Illinois at Chicago.
While these programs are not intended to provide students with internships or employment, they will offer students the opportunities to learn more about the particular career field, explore possible career paths and develop potential networks.
Many students have reported positive relationships that have resulted in internships, employment, and decisions to continue their education beyond an undergraduate degree.
Please note that the resumes of selected students will be sent to all participating firms and organizations.
Diversity on LaSalle Street
On Friday, November 14, 2008, fifteen students from each university will have breakfast, see the opening at the Chicago Board of Trade, attend a networking lunch with all participating students, and tour two corporations.
Diversity in the Law
Scheduled for Friday, April 3, 2009, the day will begin with breakfast and an opening presentation, followed by a morning site visit. The group will reconvene for lunch, and then participate in an afternoon site visit, before concluding with a reception and law school admissions fair, where students will have the opportunity to ask questions of law school admissions representatives.
Diversity in Communications
Scheduled for Friday, April 3, 2009, this program will give students who are interested in a career in advertising, public relations, or journalism the opportunity to visit two Chicago companies in these industries. Following two site visits, the day will conclude with a reception and networking event, where students will have the opportunity to meet representatives from some of the day’s participating companies.
