Education: Glenn Oaks Community College: Associates in General Studies. Indiana University South Bend: Associates in Criminal Justice.
Role at The Career Center: As the Recruiting Associate, I oversee and monitor the approval process for employers scheduling and on-campus interview dates ensuring a successful recruiting visit.
Professional Background: I began my career out of college in Criminal Justice but realized after time that this wasn’t the path I was meant to take. I was recruited into Logistics where I met some wonderful people and spent 16 years developing relationships and great customer service skills.
About me: Family, Faith and Friendship. I love spending time with my family, as I am married with two amazingly talented and beautiful girls. We spend our summers enjoying the lake either, skiing, tubing, jet skiing or just relaxing on the pontoon. Our friends and family visit a lot and it is a blessing to be able to share these wonderful times with them. I thank God for these special times every day. I always make sure that I save time for myself, as fitness is one of my passions, especially running! Running is my therapy and it is a lot cheaper. I have competed in running events during school and continued this into 5K, 10K and half marathons. One I am most proud of is completing a full marathon alongside my husband. I have a motto that goes along with this accomplishment. “There will be days that you don’t think you can run a marathon. There will be a lifetime of knowing you have.”
What do I know now about career development that I wish I knew when I was in college? At both colleges I attended, they never shared the benefits of a Career Center. I would have taken full advantage of their knowledge and opportunities for my next step in career and life.
