Career Experiential Program Manager
Education: B.B.A., Central Michigan University, Major: Marketing Minor: Interpersonal and Public Communication
Role at The Career Center: I am a Career Exploration Specialist with a focus on marketing, public relations, human resources as well as supporting students seeking to work internationally. In addition to working with students wishing to enter those fields, I coordinate The Career Center's many experiential programs which provide students with opportunities to learn more about careers through hands-on experiences such as job shadows, mentorships, externships and career treks. I also have the pleasure of overseeing the Career Center's Internship Funding Program which provides funding to students in need to assist in covering expenses incurred while participating in summer internships.
Professional Background: Began my career out of college in the Human Resources department of a local bank, in time ultimately taking on the role of Director of Marketing/PR for the bank. Came to Notre Dame working in the MBA Career Development office in 2000 and moved over to the central Career Center in 2004.
About Me: Road biking (not motorcycles but the pedal kind!), working out with kettlebells, being creative, music, reading biographies and historical non-fiction and learning Spanish and Portuguese! I love the challenge of making resumes look amazing and getting them to one page!!
Most unusual job I have had: Writing the "documentation," which is the user's guide, for a software system.
What do I know now about career development that I wish I knew when I was in college? That there actually was such a place as a Career Center that I could have gone to and utilized without having to figure it out all on my own!
