Education: M.Ed. University of Maine; B.S. United States Coast Guard Academy
Role at The Career Center: I am the Director, so I get to focus on making sure the team here has everything they need to work with our students, employers, and other stakeholders. I hold certifications as a career coach, Global Career Development Facilitator Instructor, MBTI Practitioner, and etiquette coach. Professional development is a huge area of focus for me, and I am involved in many of our profession's associations, including MWACE, NACE, and NCDA.
Professional Background: I served in the United States Coast Guard after graduating from the United States Coast Guard Academy. After pursuing a graduate degree in Student Development in Higher Education at The University of Maine, I started my time in career services at Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI. After being promoted from Assistant to Associate Director there, I went to John Carroll University outside Cleveland, Ohio, to serve as Director of the Career Center. In January of 2013, I came to serve as Director of The Career Center at the University of Notre Dame.
About Me: Our family is extremely active in triathlon. My goal is to qualify for Kona in 2015 - It's entirely possible that my husband and children will qualify before then. I have a healthy passion for soccer, too, so I coach youth soccer. There are only 4 more states I need to visit to have been to all 50 - hoping to accomplish that soon. I'm from St. Louis, but I've lived in MO, KY, KS, CT, MA, ME, RI, OH, and IN.
Most unusual job I have ever had? Weapons Officer on board a 270 foot Medium Endurance Coast Guard Cutter
What do I know now about career development that I wish I knew when I was in college? My undergraduate experience was completely different, and I would just be amazed that there were so many resources available at a College Career Center!
