Letter from the Director
As the Director of the Career Center at the University of Notre Dame, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our website. I am very excited that you are interested in The Career Center at Notre Dame, and would like to share more information with you about our career programs and resources for students and employers. Our goal is to balance the art of technology to use as a “tool” for success with the individual personal “touch” of career advising, employer relations, and community involvement.
The Career Center at Notre Dame is located on the first and second floors of Flanner Hall, including 15,000 square feet of space housing our interview center, DVD mock interview rooms, meeting rooms, and offices for counselors. I lead a staff of twenty professionals including career counselors, an employer relations team, and a technical support group.
At Notre Dame, The Career Center has a mission to teach lifelong skills. This strategy involves helping students learn how to research career fields, assess personal skills, obtain internships and identify job opportunities. Our goal is to provide students with a comprehensive career development program, which encourages them to understand the complexity of a college education with future career pursuits.
I believe that students should begin the career exploration process early in their college career. With this in mind, we encourage students to initiate the process of writing resumes, exploring internships, attending employer presentations, and meeting Notre Dame alumni during their first and second years of college. By doing this, Notre Dame students develop a greater understanding of career fields and have more career options as they progress with their college education.
In addition to the services offered to students, our employer relations team works to facilitate relationships with employers interested in recruiting our talented students. Electronic resume submission, on-campus interviewing, employer presentations, and career fairs are all available to employers during the academic year.
We encourage students and employers to become involved with The Career Center by setting up a career advising appointment, attending one of our workshops, or establishing a recruiting relationship with us. We welcome your calls to discuss the possibilities: (574) 631-5200. We look forward to learning how we can help you exceed your expectations.
Warmest regards,

Lee Svete
